In Canada and the USA, they simultaneously observed a comet and aurora (PHOTO, VIDEO)

This month, comet C / 2020 F3 (NEOWISE), which can be seen even with the naked eye, is observed in the Northern Hemisphere. It was discovered on March 27, 2020 by the NEOWISE infrared space telescope and on July 3 passed perihelion, i.e. was at a minimum distance from the Sun - 45 million kilometers. Now the comet is moving away from our star.

In early July, in the middle latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, the comet was visible in the predawn sky low over the northeastern horizon. Until July 13, her path passed through the constellation of the Ascendant, on the eve of she passed into the constellation Lynx, and on July 17 will go to the constellation Ursa Major. Until July 20, it can be observed all night, and after about July 20, in the evening and in the first half of the night.

You can see Comet C / 2020 F3 (NEOWISE) using absolutely any optical instrument: telescopes, monoculars, binoculars and telescopes. If you are sharp-sighted enough, then you should try to find it with the naked eye. The main obstacle to such observations is the twilight sky.

Social networks were flooded with photos and videos of numerous eyewitnesses who captured a celestial guest. An unexpected gift was received by observers in the USA and Canada, where the aurora occurred simultaneously with the comet. Two amazing phenomena were immediately visible from the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia and the American states of Michigan, Minnesota and Washington.
